Dear youcef

As the days grow shorter and the autumn sun bathes the landscape in a golden light, the year's most mouth-watering season reveals its charms. Enjoy a scenic walk followed by a taste of authentic Swiss cuisine: our "gourmet views" promise a treat for all the senses.

Chalet du Soldat

The hike around the dramatic rock pinnacles of the Gastlosen takes a good four hours, enough to give you a hearty appetite for a meal at this cosy mountain cabin. The traditional cuisine with local specialities is a highlight of a spectacular day's hiking in the Fribourg region.

Autumn hike – the Jura Highland Way

The Jura-Höhenweg is a classic long-distance hiking trail along the crest of the Jura mountains, linking Zürich and Geneva in a wide arc. One of the most attractive sections runs from the Col du Mollendruz to Mont Tendre through the Jura Vaudois Nature Park. The spacious meadows, picturesque lakes and striking rock formations provide thrilling contrasts.

Auberge de Sonchaux – panoramic pleasures

This mountain restaurant, open year-round, serves a sensational "charbonnade" (grilled meat) – but beware, the views over the Vaud Riviera are so breathtaking you might forget what you're eating...
